We were doing our normal bedtime ritual tonight. Part of that includes us teaching him a Bible verse - Psalm 4:8 - just before we leave him to sleep. We started a story in the Bible on David, and Janelle said, "Jonathan did you know David is the one who wrote your Bible verse?" Then without prompting, and in broken toddler English, he said:
"I will...lie down...and sleep...in peace...for you...alone...O Lord...make me...dwell...in safety."
After a really hard week, after lots of training and discipline, after wondering if anything was getting through to him, and after feeling like I wasn't going to make it through Saturday sane, that was a heart-encouraging denouement to my Friday.

Isn't it great how God blesses us, even in our crummy parents moments?? Great job, you guys!
